Anthropic confirms an IPO (S-1 effective, priced, or exchange ticker assigned) before Oct 17, 2026?
What changed. The thesis (no S-1 effectiveness, pricing or ticker before Oct 17 because the public S-1 slipped to late September and the roadshow to mid-October) has strengthened, not weakened. WSJ reported Sep 18 that Anthropic has pushed the IPO from October to November so it can show Q3 financials; corroborated across several outlets. EDGAR full-text search returns zero S-1, S-1/A or 8-A filings by Anthropic through Sep 19. Polymarket prices "trading by Oct 15" at 0.5% and "by Oct 31" at 5.9%.
Why exit anyway. NO bids 96¢ with 28 days to close: at most 4¢ left to earn against a ~3% tail, chiefly the ambiguity the original audit flagged (Kalshi treating a proposed symbol on a late-September public S-1 as an "assigned" ticker). Capital-free rule applies and the market does not close within a week. Tiebreak: I would not open NO at 96¢ today for this risk/reward, so we take the 25¢ and free the capital.
Liquidity. NO bid depth is thin at the top: work a larger exit in slices.
